I first started making clothes and knitting sweaters when I was completing my B.A. in Languages at the University of Veracruz, in Mexico. I started making clothes for myself because, as a college student, buying "fashion" items was simply out of my reach. Soon my outfits were noticed by my classmates and I started getting orders for production! Without much of a plan, I had created a part-time job and a small business operation.

Upon my arrival to New York City after graduating college in Mexico, I enrolled at FIT, where I completed a degree in Fashion Design in the 90's. Since then I have built a career as a designer, technical designer and merchandiser in New York's garment industry. My experience ranges across multiple areas of the Apparel and Accessories Industry. Throughout the years, I have worked in many different sectors of the field, both full-time and freelance positions.

As a freelance designer, I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, which have helped me expand my skills and feel confident about my capabilities. I am as comfortable working on the creative side of design, as I am on the technical side. Among these projects I can include technical outerwear & active wear; print & pattern design; graphics and accessories; all computer generated. I am proficient in Adobe Suite applications, mainly Illustrator & Photoshop.
In the language of the business world, I am a very self motivated, productive and energetic professional with a keen eye, a vision for final product results, and an understanding of the market. I am a multi-tasker, a team player, and meticulous when it comes to detail: a designer with project-solving and management abilities.
